I’ve been feeling anticipation for my favourite musician Ani Difranco to release a new album (She has a release every 1-2 years usually)I checked her site to see if there were any new albums on the horizon but cold see nothing. I checked again today and sure enough there a newie coming out in August! I’ll be camping at the CD store for this one!!
Here's a little test piece of work done in Photoshop. i want to do some enlarged B&W photos but i'm trying to figure oout how to go about it. Need to take a series of photos on my digi and then get them printined out large format. I might post a comic later as well but I thought I'd might as well put this up for today, for now.
Just found out that 'Smog' is releasing an EP featuring the song 'rock bottom riser' plus another two new songs! It also has the two video clips from 'a river aint too much to love' album. Woohoo! (Out july 1st I think) Also Canadian artist Sarah Harmer has released a newie some time recently. I loved her last two albums so I'll be buying this one with out hesitation. Also discovered for my self the artist David Shrigley from looking in the Greville st book store he has an awesome sight with lots of related goodies. PS- hung some work at the post office gallery which i'm told will be up for thre weeks. Will have to take a photo and post when I get a chance
As I mentioned I set up some wrok at school for an honours exhibtion that will be on for two weeks. I didn't want ot just plonk something on the wall so I came up with this idea for an instalation. Also it comunicatd some of the ideas of my research better. I will post an actual photo of the work when I can on this post for this days challenge.
I’ve been really enjoying listening to Smog’s new album ‘A river aint too much to love’ It’s been one of those albums that I just cant stop listening to. One of my favourite songs is called in the pines which I just realised today is a song that goes way back The chorus goes like this: "In the pines, in the pines, where the sun never shines, And you shiver when the cold wind blows. In the pines, in the pines, where the sun never shines, I’ll shiver when the cold winds blow."
I probably haven't explained myself very well about this 30 day thing. SirIve sent my this link so I've been loosley following the idea* of posting a creative act every day for 30 days. If your watching let me know your thoughts ;) (Todays post in a couple of hours) *Meaning I'm not really sticking to one medium...
Here are some trial versions for the cover of the next 7 pages digest (with a little help from PS for the colouring) Also did a transfer onto the frame I finished yesterday (then added a layer of varnish) also addded another layer of varnish to day #2 piece and also rubbed most of the paper back from anohter transfer piece. All in all, a productive day!
Still trying to figure if I will do this 30 day creative challenge as my life right now if pretty much in tune with the concept (I'm currently teaching art, studying art and also practicing art) might be good to just to do a doodle a day and post as I go? like my own little daily grind challenge but without the rules and prize money (or competitors).
