Comics master class

I just spent the week hanging out at the Wheeler centre in Melbourne with 10 other comic artists attending a comics master class with Dylan Horrocks of 'Hicksville' fame. As soon as I heard about this I knew I had to attend, and luckily I was able to get my classes covered for the week. I went generally because it was a comics master class, but more specifically I wanted to fill in some missing pieces I felt I had when it came to developing larger projects. I am happy to say the week was well spent and it was everything and more I had hoped it would be. This is not to say it was all fun, as it was hard work and extremely confronting in a lot of ways. The easiest way I can explain this is that your are surrounded by a heap of extremely talented comic artists which is intimidating in itself, then we discussed our hopes and fears connected to comic making. So you can imagine it brought up a lot of emotions for people. I accidentally mentioned that I was not a big fan of wordles

Computer fundraising project

As suggested by others I have decided to start a fund raising project to help buy a replacement computer. At first I wanted to use a website like (US only) but then I found out about a few others that are internationl fundraising sites, such as which is the one I ended up going with. I now have my own project set up there which is running for a month and a half and will try to raise $1500 to replace my old computer that died last week unexpectedly. In exchange for donations you will receive various levels of rewards. Check out the project page for all the details

Camp comic

Posted a comic to CHUGNUT over Thar

Looks like my computer has packed it in, and just a day or so after I bought a new external hard drive and backed everything up with time machine. You could say that is the real silver lining of the whole thing. Although I am now left without a computer (I'm updating this from Heather's Dad's computer which will be gone in three days) Maybe I shouldn't get ahead of myself as I haven't had the computer looked at officially yet, but usually these thing require repairs that cost half as much as a new computer, so I'm not holding out for that option. I'll be posting less here until I can sort out a new (or close to new) system which could be a few months away at this stage. I wish 'kickstarter' was an option for people outside of the states. Although I could still run my own fundraising drive offering original art perhaps, what do you think? Edit: I have an indiegogo page to help raise funds
